Summary

(Also known as "Marbles! Balance Challenge") Get ready for the next adventure into the world of Kororinpa! Marble Saga: Kororinpa sets you on a journey to help Anthony the Ant on his quest to find the Golden Sunflower. Only by navigating your customized marble through unique and treacherous mazes can you help Anthony reach his goal! It's up to you to balance the world (literally) with fun and intuitive controls available only on Wii. Marble Saga: Kororinpa is the follow-up to the original Kororinpa: Marble Mania for Wii. Utilizing the same world-turning technique as the first, you'll have to twist and turn the Wii Remote to control the environments around you. As you journey across 7 different worlds, you'll come across different gadgets to help you through your journey. Every one of the 150+ levels features fun challenges to conquer as you help Anthony roll his way to the Golden Sunflower. New features for Marble Saga: Kororinpa include increased customization elements in the game. Design your own marble to navigate more dangerous levels by assigning it certain attributes and techniques. If you really want to get into the game, use your own Mii to put yourself into the marble! Marble Saga: Kororinpa even features a brand-new level editor which lets you create your own unique stages. Through Wii Connect 24, you can share your masterpiece with friends and let them take on your own devious designs. [Hudson Entertainment]

NintendoWorldReport

With a large variety of extra collectibles, four-player simultaneous multiplayer, single-player trophy achievements, a level editor, and three difficulty settings, Marble Saga: Kororinpa is a huge offering in a tiny package.

Marble games aren't everyone's idea of a thrilling adventure, but Marble Saga: Kororinpa may very well sneak up and show the curious a good time.

The intelligently designed stages offer a well-balanced challenge even without bumping the difficulty to hard. [Mar 2009, p.86]

This is a game that Wii owners should have in their collections. It makes great use of the Wii-Mote motion controls, which is one reason to have a Wii in the first place. The game doesn’t require a lot of thought, but does require a lot of concentration and patience. A great way to unwind after a hard day of work.

Cheat Code Central

I wouldn't recommend this game to people who become angry easily or want to get things done fast. Patience is a definite virtue in this series, and if you're not made for that, well… Kororinpa is not for you.

Gameplayer Sweden

Content wise ridiculously generous compared to its predecessor, but the modified physics will most certainly not please everyone. Once adjusted, though, there is really not much not to love about the game since it improves on pretty much everything, as well as adding tons of new stuff, since last time around.

Worth Playing

The story stuff isn't important, but the gameplay is really solid and well worth checking out.

Nintendo Power

The tacked-on story is unnecessary, however, and the music isn't as good as that of the original. [Apr 2009, p.85]

Destructoid

Pleasant music and beautiful levels help to round out this cute offering, and while I do feel the control issues could cause some frustration for players, the determined ones will work around it and keep on pushing forward.

GameSpot

It retains some of its predecessor's faults, but Marble Saga is still a leap forward for the Kororinpa series.

It’s a good-looking game that can be fun or frustrating, but it may just keep you coming back for more.

Games Master UK

One for Balance Board owners only, because if you're going to be using the Wii remote, Kororinpa is the better game. [May 2009, p.84]

IGN

I peeled the paint with the horrible, horrible things I said to this game while watching my marble fly off into space because of the weird control issues. It's a shame when a game with so much charm gets undercut by technical tomfoolery.

Without the control confusion, this could have been a modern classic to rival Super Monkey Ball; instead it can only be recommended for people with a serious amount of patience. [May 2009, p.128]

Nintendo Life

Like any good sequel, Marble Saga manages to build upon the unique game play ideas of the original, not to mention addresses the serious lack of levels the first game was plagued with. But for every step forward the game takes, it takes two steps backward with its sluggish physics implementation.
