BOOM BLOX Bash Party is packed with tons of new features. The game showcases new block types, including: virus and conveyor blox, new blox shapes, such as: cylinders and wedges, and new tools that make for even more destructive fun. Players find twists on BOOM BLOX game play favorites like throwing and grabbing. Players now can also sling, launch, and blow the competition away with new cannon, paint ball and slingshot tools. Even the characters are in on the action as BOOM BLOX Bash Party features a new cast of wacky blox characters. This time they don’t just cheer you on, they are now blox themselves and you can throw, stack or even launch them, utilizing them to create even more madness and mayhem. With the press of a button, players can grab, play and rate new levels from EA as well as levels created by members of the BOOM BLOX Bash Party community. Using the game's easy-to-use Create Mode, players now have the power to share the levels they built with friends, or submit their masterpiece to be shared with the world! The expanded Create Mode lets players build and create like never before, giving them access to the same tool set the EA development team used to create each and every level in the game. But online level sharing is definitely Bash Party's biggest strength -- it lets me pick and choose the levels I like most: The ones where destruction is the signature element.

It’s fun, it’s versatile (I’ve found it to be a hit with gamers and non-gamers), and it offers more bang for your buck (ha!) than just about anything else on Wii right now. It’s the best kind of sequel – one that truly “gets” what was cool about its forebear, cuts the fat and elevates every cool feature to the next logical step. Superb.

There isn't any question that Bash Party is one of the best games on the Wii. It is that simple.

When all's said and done, Bash Party is essentially Boom Blox with everything improved and built upon. It's got more levels, more tools, more environments (the underwater and space levels really mess with the physics in an interesting way), more game modes and much more online potential. Simply put, it's essential, even if you have the original.

Yet another reason to turn on your Wii. EA again shows everyone how to make solid Wii games. Newcomers and owners of the original are really going to enjoy this title.

There hasn't been too much mucking about with the brilliant gameplay mechanics and superb physics that made the original Boom Blox so much fun.

Boom Blox: Bash Party is unquestionably the definite version of the game and tops its predecessor in every way possible.

Addictive and inherently fun (knocking stuff over never really gets old, does it?), Boom Blox Bash Party is a must-have for your Wii collection. The only question now is, how much trade in credit will you get for the original now that the new model’s rendered it outdated?

This game is what the Wii is all about. Making the most of the unique Wii control system, it delivers wholesome fun with a bit of puzzling thrown in for good measure. Great game, great fun, and definitely one for your collection.

Boom Blox: Bash Party takes what was good (and there was a lot of it) on first Boom Blox and builds on it. An excellent action-puzzler. [June 2009]

Boom Blox: Bash Party once again shows the potential of the Wii to innovate and come out with new unique experiences. If you are a fan of puzzle games, or just looking for a fun experience on your Wii you must check out Boom Blox: Bash Party.

Bash Party isn’t a huge leap from the previous game, but then it really didn’t need to be.

A few things to improve and graphics issues but we don't care about this because Boom Blox Bash Party is a fantastic game, playing it alone or with your friends or family. Must buy for a Wii owner and for fans of the first chapter.

This is more or less everything we wanted from a Boom Blox sequel and can't recommend it enough.

Boom Blox Bash Party isn't an ambitious game or that want to be a blockbuster. However, the fertility of new options managed to give new life to the original ideas, which themselves were already very rich. A concept that didn't get old with one year. Bash Party is a example of how to do a sequel: improving and expanding the original proposals, but never, in any moment, to do the brightness of the original game fade.

Boom Blox: Bash Party is not for everyone. For instance, if you don’t like fun. If you don’t have a Wii. If one Boom Blox game is enough for you. But if you like fun, and games that take advantage of the Wii’s unique strengths, you can’t go wrong with Boom Blox: Bash Party. Yes, the developers could have added more to this iteration but there are enough new modes and locales to make this a worthwhile upgrade.

With Bash Party, EA and Spielberg have taken the original Boom Blox and built on it to produce a package that is creative, innovative, and crazy-fun to play.

All in all, Boom Blox Bash Party is an excellent sequel, a great multiplayer experience and the proof that it is actually possible to create a casual game capable of hooking up even the most harcore audience.

Ultimately, Boom Blox: Bash Party is a good proposal within the puzzle genre which will be liked by every simple and addictive games follower, and also the first version fans.

The list of must-have Wii games with appeal for both the casual and core player is exceedingly short. To make the cut, a game must be immediately approachable and easy to understand, but it must also offer challenge and depth to those who seek them. Boom Blox Bash Party is atop that list.

With 400 original levels, new game modes and tools, and a robust level creator, Boom Blox Bash Party is in no way a cheap cash-in. It packs more content than most releases, and is a shining example of what developers should strive for in terms of multiplayer on the Wii.

Boom Blox Smash Party is one of the best Nintendo Wii games I’ve ever played. The game offers game modes for everyone and provides the player an awesome gaming experience. With over 400 levels, a great physics engine and an online-system for level sharing Boom Blox Smash Party is one of the best multiplayer games for the Nintendo Wii.
GameTrailers
Boom Blox: Bash Party is well-done, accessible, and fun, but it just doesn’t feel like a completely new game. If you never tried the original, Bash Party would be a great place to start. It’s hard to imagine someone picking up the game for the first time and not having fun with it.

Addictive, that's the only way in which a game like Bash Party can be described. The sequel of Boom Blox couldn't be more well-focused on every single way, not only including more gameplay styles, but also but tons of new levels -a sum of 400-, with plenty of bizarre and funny characters that give the game a strange, but fancy look. Give it a shot, you won't regret it.

With strong multiplayer, new modes, and lots of destruction, this block-bashing sequel is ready for its spotlight.

It's as though EA injected the experience with a serious supply of steroids. A ridiculous amount of fantastic new levels complete with unique attributes like varying physics, great new blocks and tools, a remade presentation complemented by a robust achievements system, a Boom Bux currency to buy upgrades, and more.

Even though it's a categorically better game, Bash Party doesn't benefit from the exciting kick of such a fresh idea that the original Boom Blox did. It's still a terrific game, though, and one that's easy to enjoy for anyone with an appetite for destruction.

Bash Party feels a lot like its predecessor; it's more like an expansion pack than a true sequel. [July 2009, p.87]
Gameplayer Sweden
One could argue that Bash Party is simply a matter of reinventing the wheel, but why fix what ain't etc. Considering the innovative and successful past of this particular IP we just can't complain that what is on offer is an already known formula that has been more or less perfected.

Smash Party is the typical sequel to last year's phenomenal party game Boom Blox - you're simply treated to more of everything. This means that you'll find an impressive quantity of content but a meager supply of new features. One feature to note is the ability to download and play content created by other player - a feature that will in theory provide an endless supply of new content for fans of the first game.

Varied and sweet arcade game looks too childish at first sight but it’s the same as its predecessor – alluring and accessible, fun and open to the whole family. [July 2009]

Bash Party may become repetitive for some over time, but it does prove to be a far better package overall, offering a wealth of gameplay for those that get hooked by the formula.

matt B gave it a4:
What are all the good ratings about? I found it boring.
Jean F gave it a9:
This is one multi-player experience not to be missed - except if you take yourself too seriously. It's fun, it's exhausting and it's as much fun to watch others play as it is to play yourself. Walking down the red carpet, stopping occasionally to pose for the press, is my favorite of the mini games.
christopher B gave it a10:
This game is great and a must own for anyone who enjoyed the first game. It has a deeper multiplayer and single player mode, and the ability to download new levels everyday really makes the game have unbelievable replay value.
Jeff A gave it a10:
The single-player is sub-par at best, but the multiplayer is better than ever, delivering more of the same types of levels from the previous games in addition to several new modes of play... But if you're at all the creative type, the level editor is where Bash Party really shines. Not only does it provide you with lots of tools to build your own levels, but unlike the first game, you can actually play your creations with your friends.
