Buzz! Master Quiz is a title that anyone interested in portable party games should consider, whether you're a parent needing a diversion for the kids in the car or a PSP owner looking to flex your trivia muscles. [Dec 2008, p.88]

While far from the best entry in the Buzz series, Master Quiz is an easy game to recommend. It’s fast, fun, full of excellent questions (and lots of ’em) and has a great all around feel. Lots of game modes keep the basic "answer a question for points" formula fresh throughout, and with medals, trophies and actual progression it actually feels like more than a shallow game show.

So while Buzz! Master Quiz isn't quite my preferred version of the series; it's still a really decent outing, and first attempt, on the PSP. There are a decent variety of quiz types available, along with a great selection of actual questions, and a solid amount of content to keep a player busy for a while.

Much like its PS2 and PS3 siblings Buzz Master Quiz isn't going to appeal if you don't like quiz games and played on your own it becomes dull quickly. But, the enjoyable multiplayer modes make it the ideal travel game and while it's not the ultimate handheld quiz it does the job well enough while we wait for something better.

Despite the low(ish) price, this is far from a no-brainer. [Oct 2008, p.79]

Maxi Consolas (Portugal)
A logical addiction to the PSP library, Master Quiz is, although, less multiplayer-friendly than the other titles of the series. Even so, it can improve if you have friends with the game, because the console sharing option doesn’t work so well. Unfortunately, the single player is also very limited. [Sept 2008]

This latest entry in the Buzz-series brings us fun quiz-based entertainment, wrapped in a simple and intuitive interface. A nice feature is the ability to enjoy a game of multiplayer even if you only have one PSP to pass around. The one major flaw here is the content, or lack of it to be specific. You'll easily blast through all of the questions in one evening, drastically reducing the lasting appeal of this title.

When a succesfull game is ported to a different platform it doesn't necessarily means that it's going to work. Especially with a game like the Buzz! series. Ment to be a party game, there is not mucht left to party on a PSP when you're all by yourself. And handing over your PSP in the multiplayer modus isn't going to fix that. This Buzz is going out with a sizzle.
