Variety John Anderson

Don't expect a pot full of boiling bunnies, because nothing so creatively crazy ever happens in Obsessed, a "Fatal Attraction"-inspired predatory-female domestic thriller that spends much time spinning its wheels and making auds practically beg for an explanation to all the madness and obsession.

Entertainment Weekly Owen Gleiberman

Obsessed has little plausibility, but at moments it's an entertaining bad movie, and the performers are vivid.

LA Weekly Melissa Anderson

Isn't half as dramatic as what probably went down after she (Beyoncé Knowles) kicked LaTavia and LaToya out of Destiny's Child.

Los Angeles Times Gary Goldstein

The singer-actress' saucy, glamorously wry performance makes up for some of the film's inherent predictability.

Austin Chronicle Marjorie Baumgarten

The film may seem a bit undercooked until it gets to the staging of the ultimate battle, but Obsessed is swinging from the chandeliers by the end.

Takes far too long to get cooking, and it works so hard at NOT being exploitation that it loses sight of its reasons for existing in the first place.

The Hollywood Reporter Kirk Honeycutt

Every move is telegraphed well in advance thanks to desultory writing, routine direction and ample musical cues.

Larter just doesn't have the same bite as the bunny-killing stalkers of years gone by.

Doing his best to class up the joint, "The Wire's" Idris Elba stars as the perfect man.

New York Daily News Joe Neumaier

Unfortunately, the whole movie seems constructed just to get the singer/actress into a knock-down catfight, shoehorning one of show business's sexiest entertainers into a scorned-woman role. And even then, the pay-off feels cheap.

The New York Times Stephen Holden

The movie’s most disturbing aspect, of which the filmmakers could not have been unaware, is the physical resemblance between Mr. Elba and Ms. Larter to O. J. and Nicole Brown Simpson. It lends Obsessed a distasteful taint of exploitation.

Rolling Stone Peter Travers

Memo to Beyoncé Knowles: You were so good as Etta James in "Cadillac Records," so why'd you go spoil everything with a rank cheeseball thriller that buries you in clichés and won't even help you dig yourself out?

Chad S, your review is the greatest example of jackin off in front of a mirror I've ever seen. Well done sir Oh yeah, this this film was an abomination.

Mad House gave it a6:
The Movie Obsessed is Flawed in more ways than 1, & I cant even put my finger on most. Its predictability is probably #1, & Beys acting in this movie was more so hit & miss & thats kinda due to bad direction from the directer, they get so happy that she agreed to do the movie that they forget to Critique what needs to be critiqued like for instance, The scene where Bey calls Lisa & leaves a message & then walks over to see how to use the burglary alarm. Oh God, I CRINGE JUST THINKING ABOUT IT... Yes, Visually this movie is Superb but would any1 want to see it more than once?

Cherie C gave it a0:
Beyonce was terrible, how the hell you going to have a full out fight in 5 inch heels. This was straight BS. Bey needs to stick to singing, this movie thing is not for her. I didn't pay at the theater, I waited till it came to saty. Bey is terrible actress. Sorry! But the chick from the Game she was very good!

john j gave it a1:
Don't waste your time.. You could see the ending coming from the 1st two minutes of the move. Wow Beyonce' gets pissed.. who would have thought?

Jay H gave it a6:
Granted, the story is all too familiar, and a bit far fetched, but I was never bored for a minute. Fast pace, interesting. The performances were fine, good editing.

Wlater S gave it a10:
I found this Movie to Be Very Entertaining!!! Though the Trailer did basically give the movie away!! my only problem was Beyonce's acting it seemed better in other movies that she made besides that awesome.. Love Ali Larter she is a spectacular Actress and Does an Obsessed very Good!!

Maikeo M gave it a0:
This movie sucked! I had to give it to Idris for his part. When you can predict a movie from the beginning, that movie is done. It did not even had a twist to the plot. This movie should have gone straight to DVD. It wouldn't had been no. 1 if there were some real movie coming out that weekend. It seems like they know when to play something out. Stop making films and sing b/c you are not even good.
